Type 1 and Type 2 Safety Cans
Maintain safety and compliance standards on site and on the go with the proper industrial safety products for every part of the job.
Did you know that red plastic gas can you keep on hand to fuel your home lawnmower is not legally allowed for professional use? Type I and Type II steel metal safety cans by Eagle are approved for temporary storage and transport of gasoline and other flammable liquids and fuels.
The difference between the types is the number of openings on the container. Type 1 cans feature a single opening for both filling and pouring. A Type 2 safety can is outfitted with a separate, second opening for filling, which serves as a safety vent when pouring.
We carry Type 1 red and yellow gasoline and diesel safety can options with up to 5-gallon capacity, and Type 2 safety cans for fuel and flammable fluids in 2.5 or 5-gallon sizes – the maximum capacity allowed.
Both Type I and Type II safety cans meet requirements set by OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and are UL / ULC and FM Approved.
