This fingerless glove features a stretch nylon back for breathability and flexibility, along with a durable grain leather palm that provides long-lasting protection against wear and abrasion. Strategically placed VEP (Visco-Elastic Polymer) padding in the palm and between the thumb and index finger helps absorb shock and vibration while protecting the thumb web area from cumulative trauma such as bruising caused by gripping tools. The fingerless design allows for excellent dexterity and tactile feedback, making it ideal for tasks that require precision and control. VEP padding works by mimicking the behavior of liquids while remaining solid, allowing it to disperse shock waves in all directions. This advanced material absorbs and dissipates impact energy while returning to its original shape between shocks. Laboratory testing has shown VEP can absorb up to 500% more shock than foam of the same thickness, providing superior protection during repetitive tool use. Typical glove padding thickness is 1/8 in. (3 mm) to provide excellent shock absorption while maintaining natural hand movement and sensitivity.
